A Big "Tuesday Night" Win!!
The Township of Chatsworth "Howell Transport" Bantam Local League Team played The Owen Sound Junior Attack #1 on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 at the Keady Arena. This was the Rebel's first regular season game in 2019. The game got off to a quick start. The Rebels scored at 6:51 when Jack Diaz buried the puck, assisted by Daniel Mustard.
The Rebels would score again at 4:36 when William Hoare scored, unassisted.
At 10:51 in Period 2, Jack Diaz scored another goal, assisted once again by Daniel Mustard. At 7:21, Owen Sound netted their first goal of the game. The rest of the period remained scoreless with both teams defending well. Rebel's goalie DJ Gamble did an excellent job throughout the game.
At 10:33, Layne Edwards scored with a hard shot, assisted by Jack Diaz. Owen Sound scored their second goal of the game at 6:57. The Rebels kept winning battles for the puck and made some nice passes to ensure that Owen Sound would not score again. At 5:35 the Rebels scored another goal. Jaclyn Beirnes scored a beauty, assisted by Maverick Lacey and Ethen Blakey.
Many of the fans commented that they felt this was the best game that the Rebels have played all season. Solid passing, good forechecking and an increase in back-checking were present throughout the game.
