Bantam LL Season Opener
The Township of Chatsworth "Howell Transport" Bantam Local League Team played the Kincardine Kinucks #2 on Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at the Tara Arena. This was the home AND season opener for the Rebels.
The Rebels outnumbered their opponents with a very full bench of young, enthusiastic hockey players looking to get out on the ice and demonstrate what they have learned at practice. The action was fairly fast-paced right from the start.
Rebel's goalie DJ Gamble stood tall in the net and made many great saves over the course of the game. With 3:11 left in Period One, Kincardine finally found the back of the net. This was the only goal scored in Period One.
Both teams came out strong in Period Two. Again, Rebel's goalie DJ Gamble kept the net clean until 2:39. The score was 2 - 0 at the end of Period 2.
Kincardine scored at 9:04 in the third period and added another at 3:38. The Rebels never gave up. In the true spirit of Minor Hockey, many of the Kincardine players complimented Rebel's goalie DJ Gamble on his great plays and many terrific saves over the course of the game as they were leaving the arena to travel back to Kincardine.
Final Score 4 - 0 for Kincardine #2.
The Rebels will take what they learned into their practice Tuesday night and prepare for their next opponents.
