Saturday January 5th the RF King Excavating Atom LL Rebels participated in the West Grey Minor Hockey Tournament in Durham.  The team set out with the specific goal of winning the tournament after they were challenged by the coaching staff to do so.  We came up just short, bowing out in the final game to Flesherton.

Game 1 saw the Rebels put out their most complete team game of the year by beating the host West Grey team 5-3.  Owen Cooke opened the scoring for the Rebels with Braden King, Rogan Vanstone, Kayden Kirk and Billy Catto rounding out the scoring.  King, Catto and Duncan Hofmann added assists.

Game 2 saw the Rebels squeak out an overtime win against league rival Owen Sound.  King and Hofmann scored during regulation and Vanstone ended the game shortly into overtime with a solid wrister.  Vanstone also added an assist.

Game 3, the Final, had the Rebels lose to a strong Flesherton squad 8-1.  Riley Roblin assisted on another Vanstone goal that led to Rogan's much deserved MVP selection.

Although the team came up a little short on their goal this weekend they should all be pleased with the result.
