Rebels climb into third heading into holidays
The Team Tedford Remax midget B girls climbed into third place in the LLFHL standings heading into the holidays.

After dropping a 2-1 decision to Saugeen in perhaps their best effort of the season on December 11, the Rebels hosted the Kitchener Lady Rangers on the 15th.

They continued their dominance from the stinging loss into the first and took the game to the Rangers early! Reese Wilkins, Tristan Brown and Katelynn Lavergne each had early chances turned away. Kitchener ended up drawing first blood on a wrap around play from behind Ashlyn Stephenson.

The second period started like the first with the Rebels pouring on pressure from each shift! The Rebs scored two goals in 33 seconds a couple minutes into the frame. First up was Hunter Moffat firing a shot through traffic on a great series of cycling the puck in the left corner. Rachel Mallette and Tristan Brown were amazing in creating the play that led to Moffat's goal!
Grace Kivell tallied next on a break away!
At the 6:39 mark, Mallette closed out the scoring with assists going to Bronte Frook and Tristan Brown.
There was no shortage of Rebel opportunity in the third as the defence poured in all kinds of shots from Morgan Moran, Lindsay Elliot and Joren Wilcox.
The game ended 3-1 and marked back to back dominating efforts from the girls!

The following day, the team travelled to Wellesley to take on the second place Twin Center Hericanes.

The Rebels took the game to the Hericanes early but couldn't penetrate the tough defence.  The host team hit the board first on an individual effort off of a neutral zone turn over. 1-0 Hericanes

The second saw the play swing back and forth and the Rebels were able to take advantage of penalty trouble on the home squad!  Kenna McKee fed Grace Kivell on the left point, who fired a wrist shot that was tipped in front by Aubrey Urbshott.  1-1

The visitors failed to take advantage of a five on three power play and they paid for it in the third.  The Hericanes took advantage of a loose puck to the side of Ashlynn Stephenson and went up 2-1 for good.

Forwards, Rachel Mallette and Natallie Franks had strong games for the Rebels while Lindsay Elliot led the defensive side.

Finally the Rebels took to the road for the last time in 2018 with a trip to Woodstock to take on the Wildcats.

Another strong start for the Reb's was led by forechecking from Reese Wilkins and Kyla Thalen.
The efforts were thwarted though and the first ended in a scoreless draw!

The pressure continued into the second and the visitors tallied first at the 8:12 mark.  Tristan Brown took a feed from Reese Wilkins and drove the puck down the left boards with a great shot! The Wildcats goalie made the save on Brown's attempt but Bronte Frook was jonny on the spot and shovelled in the rebound! 1-0 Rebels.

After killing off a penalty, Chatsworth cashed again as Hunter Moffat drove a shot through traffic and by the host tender.  Frook drew the lone assist on the goal.

A rough third period gave the Rebels a chance to work on their powerplay as Woodstock took 4 out of 6 minor penalties handed out.  Lots of shots but no more scoring as the Rebels were happy to take another two points home vaulting them into third in the league standings.

Next up, two home games this weekend in Markdale. Saturday against Stratford and Sunday with chief rivals from Saugeen Shores.
