The 'Team Tedford RE/MAX' MIDGET B's started their 2018-19 LLFHL season off with a trip to Tiverton on Saturday night to take on the Kincardine Kinucks.
The girls have welcomed a couple 'past' REBELS back to their lineup this season, and will be playing with a full bench of 16 talented skaters … and one spitfire of a goalie.
They came out strong on Saturday night, and looked pretty comfortable with their new line-mates as they battled back and forth with the Kinucks. It was the REBELS that got on the board first with a centering pass from 'defence'
Morgan Moran to 'rookie'
Aubrey Urbshot. Urbshot skated the puck over the line and found the stick of 'returning Rebel'
Tristin Brown for the shot to the back of the net at 1:03 in the 1st.
The Kinucks took control of the 2nd period, but 'goalie'
Ashlynn Stephenson kept the REBELS in the game with some amazing moves between the pipes.
The 3rd period went end to end for over 13 minutes, before the Kinucks found the top corner of our net with a screened shot from the point at 1:11. The final minute ticked away with both goal tenders denying any attempt to take the lead.
Final Score: 1 - 1
We couldn't do it without the volunteers!
Coaches ... Brad Moran, Ken Kivell, Jeff Wilkins and Brian Lavergne will be whipping the girls back into shape and guiding them to what we all hope will be a very successful season.
Trainers ... Carrie Stephenson and Cindy Thalen will be there to look after the girls on and off this ice, and Warren Wilcox will be keeping everyone organized from a managerial position, as well as on ice and bench when needed.
Here's to a great year
REBELS!
