Out with the old...
Submitted By CherylAnn Golem on Monday, December 31, 2018
The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timer Inc., Midget Rep Rebels met the Shallow Lake Lakers for the final game of 2018.  Good job 2018 is over and we can hope for something better in 2019...

Rebels seemed to be in a post-turkey coma for the first half of the game and with 8:47 left in the 2nd, the Lakers already enjoyed a 6 - 0 lead. The second half of the game was an improvement, but still not the kind of hockey this team has shown it is capable of.
The Rebels had some good scoring chances late in the second, but they couldn't seem to get one into the Laker net.  Rebels took to the ice in the third but were caught napping as the Lakers extended their lead to 7 -0 within the first 25 seconds.  The Rebels regrouped and came back and scored a goal of their own a minute later when Mitch Stevens passed the puck up to Brandon Stewart who made no mistake and the Rebels finally got on the scoreboard.
The remainder of the game saw the two teams in an even match with scoring chances at both ends of the ice but neither was able to add to the scoreboard.
Thankfully, the Rebels are finished for 2018 and we are looking forward to seeing high caliber hockey as we head into 2019.  There are 2 games left in the regular season.  Thursday January 3, we face off against the West Grey Warriors at 9 pm in Durham and then January 6 the final game of the season takes place in Markdale versus the Huron-Bruce Blizzards. Come on out and cheer on the Rebels.
