Playing for Pride
The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels played one final game in the Silver Stick tournament. They faced off against Huron Bruce Blizzards with both teams knowing that win or lose, this was the last game of the tournament for both teams.
Once again, the Rebels played at the same level as whatever team they faced. The Rebels spent much of the first period in control of the puck but they were unable to score. With 1:30 left in the first, Rebels were in control of the puck in the Blizzards end of the ice. They made a series of great passes, finishing with Mitch Stevens to Brandon Stewart to brother Calvin Stewart who fired it by the Blizzards goalie to give the Rebels a 1 - 0 lead. The game continued but the Rebels were unable to score again.
The Blizzards had some excellent opportunities of their own as the game progressed and these were turned aside by Rebel goalie Lawson Cumming.
Rebels held on to win 1 - 0.
Rebels take to the ice again on November 25th at 6 pm.
