Rebels Battle Rams
The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels played a fast-paced physical game against the Mount Forest Rams, but the first place Rams muscled their way past the Rebels to remain undefeated.
The Rebels played hard but just came up a little short. Rebel goalie Lawson Cumming made a number of excellent saves but unfortunately it wasn't quite enough. The Rebels fought relentlessly, battling in the corners on the forecheck, but they just didn't seem to get many quality shots at the net. Calvin Stewart threw the puck to Jakob Moran. Moran made an excellent pass to Brandon Stewart who made no mistake as he stepped into the shot and blew it by the Ram net minder to give the Rebels their only goal of the game.
Several of the many grinding, punishing encounters in their own end, both along the boards and in front of the net, left the Rebels on the losing end of a penalty call. However, the Rebels didn't give up and continued to actively battle until the final buzzer. The Rams managed to come away with 3 goals to the Rebels 1 but the Rebels proved that they are not to be taken lightly by the first place team and let it be known that they would be ready for a rematch.
Midget Rep Rebels are in Walkerton tonight (Nov. 5) at 9 pm.
