Rebels Victorious in Their Final Game of the Regular Season
The Township of Chatsworth "Barry's Construction" Pewee Boys LL played the Shallow Lake Lakers on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at the Shallow Lake Arena.  The following article was written in the absence of the official game sheet so hopefully this summary does justice to the game and the players involved.

The Rebels got off to a strong start in period one.  Just 17 seconds into the game, the Rebels fed the puck to Maverick Lacey who fired a powerful slap shot past the Laker's goalie.  The Rebels were pumped and ready to score more goals.  Sam Potter scored the next goal of the game on a nice play involving Robert LaFond.  Andersen McComb would be the next player to score on another great play by the Rebels.  Shallow Lake answered back with 1:41 left in the period.  3 - 1 at the end of the first period.

Shallow Lake continued on the offensive in period two and scored just 56 seconds into the period.  Sam Potter then scored his second goal of the game, assisted by Xander Kirk and Jackson Greig.  Shallow Lake would score again with 8 seconds left in the period.  4 - 3 at the end of the second period.

Period 3 is often a challenging one for the Rebels and Shallow Lake is not known for giving up.  Today was no different.  Shallow Lake tied the game with a fourth goal and the Rebels had to adjust their play if they wanted to secure the win.  Jimmy Couch, Sheldon Rodgers, Javier Koeslag, and Maverick Lacey had to tighten their defence.  Rebel's goalie Ethen Blakey pounced on any loose pucks to ensure that Shallow Lake would not take the lead.  Aiden Callahan-Cummins and Jackson Greig dropped back to more defensive positions when their assistance was needed.  Robert LaFond, Sam Potter, Xander Kirk, Andersen McComb, and Jordan Brown tried everything they could think of to pull out the win.  And with 3:53 left in the period Andersen McComb scored his second goal of the game, which proved to be the game winner!!

Final Score:    Rebels    5,     Lakers   4

Congratulations Rebels!!  Prepare yourselves for the playoffs!!
