REBELS defeat #2 in the LEAGUE
The “Air Tech Mechanical” Bantam LL2 REBELS wrapped up their regular season facing the top 2 teams in the league.
The boys earned two BIG wins the weekend before against Owen Sound (Jan.20) and Walkerton (Jan.21), but they had set their sights on these last two games with the league leaders.

Jan.27 had the boys up against the undefeated AEMHA Ice Dogs.

Despite our best efforts, the dangling Ice Dogs triumphed once more.
The first period was an even battle of back and forth action, only allowing 1 goal against us.
Three more went in during the 2nd period, before Austin King got the REBELS on the board with 5.9 seconds left on the clock, assisted by Jake Moran.

The 3rd period saw another two Ice Dog goals slip into our net, before Kinger struck again on a beauty setup from Tanner Timbers at 1:26.

Jan.28 was a pleasant surprise to everyone … but the Kinucks! (who had only lost 3 games all season)

Our boys were fired up, and had all arrived in Tiverton early, ready for the challenge!

The teams hit the ice … the puck dropped … and 17 seconds later Jake Moran fired it high into the Kinucks net!

The back and forth battle was on, and Jason Rudolph-MacLeod was on his game, with that hot glove of his getting a workout.  The Kinucks headed to the box, and the REBELS went on their first power-play of the game.
It only took 14 seconds for Tanner Timbers to capitalize on it, with a nice setup from Austin King at 6:25.

Alex DeJong sent a pass up to Jake and he pushed his way in, firing a shot across the ice that caught the far side post and curled into the net at 4:15.

With a couple of frustrated Kinucks in the box, the 2nd period started with the REBELS on a 5 on 3 P.P.

Dylan Ledingham got the puck to Christian Routenburg-Evans, who found Austin King open at Kincardine’s blue line.  Kinger skated it in, faked a pass and slid the puck in 5-hole at 13:28.

Our amazing goalie Jason had been playing the puck well, assisting our hard working defence.  He cleared the puck out to Jake in the neutral zone, who charged up the ice and completed his hat-trick at 12:00.
The remainder of the period ticked by scoreless, leaving the REBELS up 5 – 0 going into the flood.

The Kinucks came out strong in the 3rd, scoring just 9 seconds in.  They added another at 11:34, before Tanner picked up a pass from Alex and skated end to end, firing one of his signature shots to the back of the net at 8:03.  Kincardine answered back with a P.P. goal at 6:13, but that would be their last …
