Well..........We Predicted a Rebel Victory!!
The Township of Chatsworth "Air-Tech Mechanical" Bantam Boys LL1 played the Township of Chatsworth "Air-Tech Mechanical" Bantam Boys LL2 on Sunday, March 25th, 2018 at the Markdale Arena.  It was Game Three of the WOAA Elite Finals.  If you have been following this story you will already know that these two teams are very evenly matched and that this game would decide who would be the champion.  Everyone accurately predicted a REBEL victory, that was a given, but which Rebel team would come out on top??  Only time would tell.

Once again, the hockey action was fast paced right from the start.  The last two times that these teams played each other, the goalies were spectacular and today was NO exception.  DJ Gamble (LL1) and Jason Rudolph-MacLeod (LL2) were stellar.

LL1 scored the first goal of the game, which has been their trademark lately, at 2:33 in Period One.  Jack Diaz delivered this one, assisted by Dalan Frook and Landon HeathersJakob Moran answered right back for LL2 at 0:47, unassisted, which is definitely his trademark.  This young man knows how to put the puck in the net!!  One to one at the end of Period One.

Period Two was excellent with great plays on both sides.  At 4:29 Jakob Moran scored his second goal of the game, assisted by Wesley Houston.  Two to one at the end of Period Two.  LL1 knew that they would need to come out strong in Period Three.

Fasten your seat belts for Period Three!!  Adam Gorman scored at 12:28 for LL1 on a powerful breakaway, unassisted.  The game was tied up once more.  LL1 moved ahead at 11:52 when Curtis Wade scored a beauty, assisted by Dalan Frook.  LL2 tied things up at 8:55 when Tanner Timbers scored, unassisted.  LL1 answered back when Pearce Lacey sent a rocket into the net at 4:19, assisted by Aaron Sadler and Dalan Frook.  LL2 was not done yet and scored again at 3:41 when, you guessed it, Jakob Moran scored, assisted by Austin King and Tanner Timbers.  Another well deserved hat trick for Jakob Moran.  This game was now tied at four goals apiece and over-time was once again in sight.  Try as they might, no more goals were scored in the last few minutes of regulation time.

These two teams are NO strangers to winning games in over-time.  They were ready to give it everything they had to get one more goal this season.  Pearce Lacey of LL1 intercepted a pass and raced up the ice at 6:25.  This led to a number of shots on the net in quick succession.  Pearce Lacey, Charlie Scott, and Dalan Frook took shots on the net when Jack Kivell seemed to appear out of nowhere to deliver the final goal of the game, the series, and the season, a real beauty at 6:03, to win the game.

Final Score:   LL1   5,      LL2   4
Congratulations to both teams on some great hockey this season!!

An On-Ice Awards Ceremony immediately followed the game with both teams receiving their medals and ovations from the crowd.  The teams posed for pictures individually and together in a spirit of great camaraderie!!
