Pumped for Pink on the Rink!
The Chatsworth Xtreme Heating Peewee C Girls had a blast in South Huron this weekend at the Pink on the Rink Tournament. This tournament is always a great experience because you are there with several other Chatsworth teams so you get the chance to be a fan as well! The girls would like to congratulate the other Rebel Teams on their hard work and medal wins!

Their first game was against Lucan in Hensall and the girls played their hearts out. They held them to 0-0 during the first period .  Jaclyn Beirnes  made many great saves including a glove catch.
In the 2nd period the play was end to end with the Rebels getting shots on net before Lucan was able to get one past Jaclyn and they scored in the last two minutes. Lucan added two more goals in the third period despite the Rebels strong back checking for a 3-0 loss.

The girls next challenge was against the host centre South Huron. We knew it would be tough since many of their players had been on the Provincial Championship Atom team from the year before. Again the girls dug in and held them off in the first period keeping the score tied at 0. Then for the rest of the game they wore us down scoring 3 in the 2nd and 4 in the 3rd for a score of 7-0.

The girls were determined to improve their results from Friday with their game against Mitchell on Sat.
They started the scoring off early when Cecily Mallette fired a pass in from the point and Jayden Thalen picked it up and rifled it into the net.

The next shift capitalized on that momentum and Lyndsay Cumming skated up the ice and scored, unassisted.

Jaclyn Beirnes made a couple of great glove saves and the entire team was working hard. Unfortunately,  Mitchell came back a couple minutes later and scored to make it 2-1. The Rebel ladies worked hard to keep the lead but Mitchell was able to get one past them late in the second to tie it up.

It wasn't meant to be as the Mitchell team scored again in the third to take the lead. The Rebels tried to fight back but were unable to get another goal. The girls were pretty down about the loss but they should hold them heads high as they are improving all the time!

The girls had a great time at the Oakwood Resort hanging out as a team.
