The Novice C Desboro Tire Girls took to the ice for their home play down game against Walkerton. They were challenged by their coaching squad to win battles in the corner and play their absolute hardest.
Well, this team left everything on the ice! Bree Wilkins was outstanding in net. At one point she made a NHL level save sliding across the net. Despite chances at both ends the score remained 0-0 until the middle of the third when Walkerton got one through on a rebound.
Classic of our team they never let up! They continued to put pressure on at their opponent's end and fell just short unable to snipe one in. The game ended in a 1-0 loss. Our girls all should be proud of their effort and continual improvement. They gave Walkerton a good scare in this game!
It was Katie Murray that earned the pink helmet for her back checking and offensive efforts.
