2016 Playoff Run for the Novice LL2 Rebels Update

North Division 1st round playoffs seeded our Rebels in the top of the division due to the ranking of Elite. Some parents were asking how this happened so I thought I would try to explain.
Our organization agreed on not having a representative team this year and devoted this season to building skills and confidence of the players for future years to come. Evaluations at the beginning of the season created two teams with the attempt to make them equally competitive in the league.

At the playoff meeting we as managers learned that our teams were ranked elite and would compete with other elite teams in the WOAA for play downs. Our league wanted to be fair to our teams and allowed us to play first round with them and then we would cross into the South Division. This ended up creating a 16 game schedule. I have to thank all the parents and kids for their dedication and positive attitudes during this time.

We had a mixed group of kids from 5 different schools that learned to play the game and have built friendships during this season and have come together at the right time. They have competed against the top 4 teams in the North division in order to lessen the amount of games played from 16 to 14. This was a big challenge for them but they have worked hard with positive attitudes and have become better players and teammates because of it. We have completed the North Division games and are working on the South Division which will be completed by the end of March. Lucknow, Howick, Wingham and our 2 TCDMHA teams are completing for the trophy.

Novice LL2 game results so far

1.Lucknow(away) 2/10min 1/15min L 2-0
2.Howick (Home) 3/10min L 9-1(first team to score on them) Goal Scorer Kody Cook

4. Wingham(away) 2/10 1/12min W 2-0  Finn McKee scored the game winner assists by Kody Cook and Conner Thede. Danny Wallis was awarded the shutout. He came up with timely saves, one with 20 seconds on the clock and the score was still 1-0 then Kody skated the puck down the ice to put the puck into the empty net at 0.1 seconds on the clock. Best game they had played so far, starting to love the big ice surface!!
5. Rebels(Home) Cancelled

4 more Games to be played against the Rebels, Lucknow Sepoys and Howick Hornets.

As parents and fans we are very proud of our Rebels, Keep up the great teamwork.
