Howell Transport Rebels dominate ALL!
The TCDMHA Howell Transport Midgets capped off a fantastic season with a 6-1 domination of the southern finalists, the Blythe Crusaders.

With a 18-1-1 regular season record and a 5-1 playoff record the boys earned the north division title.

Blythe squeaked into the final by winning a 3-way tie by having 6 less minutes in penalties than their competitors.

After some back and forth controversy (I think they were afraid to come play us) the convener stepped in and made the final a home-and-home old school final - points per period, and if tied the least penalty minutes.

Our first game was in Blythe on Wednesday night.  The Crusaders were able to eek out a 3-1 win by capitalizing on the power play and the fact our boys have not played a game in 20 days.  Of course, this meant we need to win the next game, AND have fewer penalties!

Well, our boys did NOT disappoint!  With their moms wearing away jerseys for support they came out FLYING!

Opening the scoring for the Rebels was Ryley MacLeod.  The Crusaders answered back and the 1st ended in a tie.

We scored 2 in the 2nd - Dawson McNabb dangled and slipped one in.  Evan Longland slapped a floater from the blue line which fooled the opponent's netminder putting us up by 2.

After the flood we were ahead in score, but behind in penalty minutes.  The boys knew they needed to win the period and keep their play fast moving in hopes of frustrating the Crusaders.

Evan Longland had a beauty goal to start us off, and 5 seconds later Will Kavanagh tapped in the back-breaker.  This riled Blythe and they started to take penalties.

We capitalized on a power play and David Harrison muscled in our 6th goal.

Final result...we outplayed them 6-1 and dominated the game.

It came down to penalty minutes...and Blythe ended up with 6 MORE minutes than us!  Karma?  Not sure, but our boys played their best disciplined and positional hockey in the 3rd period this season.

Congratulations boys, well deserved and we are all so proud.
