Championship Tuesday, Let's Fill OUR BARN
The Air Tech Mechanical Bantam Rebels are bringing Game 6 back to our barn Tuesday night (7 pm) after a clutch 3-2 victory in Goderich Thursday night. Special permission from the WOAA has been granted to play 3 OT periods, if necessary, to determine a winner in the Gregg Division Championship Series. The 6  point series is tied at 5 points each. Our Rebels need your support to help them push them over the top in what will be the last day of hockey for the 2014-15 season in Chatty. You don't want to miss it!!

In front of a large Goderich crowd, our Rebels came out flying and played their best hockey of the season in the first half of Thursday's game. Alex got the Rebels started 6:40 in the first when he took Cody's pass high in the slot and went 5 hole.  Cody added the next 2 goals. Cody took a pass from Carson down low in front of the Goderich net and walked around the netminder. Exactly 5 minutes later, and shorthanded, Cody blocked a Goderich point shot, raced down the ice on a breakaway and deftly deked the goalie to put the Rebels up 3-0.

As good as the Rebels were in the game's first half, the Sailors were equally as good in the 2nd half of the game. The Rebels hopes of going to the break with a 3 goal lead were ended when Dwyer Brown scored for the  Sailors with 2:52 remaining in the 2nd. The 2 goal lead remained at the end of the 2nd, but barely, as the Sailors had a goal waived off as it crossed the goal line after the buzzer. The Rebels clung to the 2 goal lead until 3:36 left in the 3rd when Alex Genttner drew the Sailors to within 1. The Rebels also took a penalty after the goal to setup a frantic finish. With the season on the line, Ty and the boys killed the penalty and the remaining 1:36 to force a Game 6.

Game 6's are a rarity, the boys are excited about the opportunity and would like to see a large crowd on hand Tuesday night (7 pm). The Midget LL team plays right after the Bantams and they also will be trying to win a championship Tuesday night. Last night of the season, two championship games in OUR BARN, it doesn't get any better that hockey fans, be there to support your Rebels!
