Do or Die Time for Bantam Rebels
The Goderich Sailors have pushed the Air Tech Mechanical Bantam Rebels to the brink of elimination with their 6-3 over the host Rebels. The Sailors now lead the 6 point series 5 points to 3.
The Rebels got the start they wanted just 2:26 into the first when Owen converted a nice passing play from Mitch and Reid and went 5 hole on the Goderich netminder. The lead was short lived as the Sailors scored just 45 seconds later and then added another with 4:59 left in the first to take a 2-1 lead after one period. The Sailors took a 2 goal lead before Owen tipped Brett's point shot to bring the Rebels to within one. Branson also earned an assist. Again the Sailors responded with a quick goal to restore their 2 goal lead heading to the third. The Rebels again closed to gap to one when Cody found the back of the net, assists going to Alex and Carson. The Sailors countered yet again just 2 minutes later and put the game out of reach with their 6th goal with 3:29 remaining.
The Rebels are in a must win situation Thursday night in Goderich.
