Gregg Division Finals, Here We Come!
The Kuhl Machine Shop Midget Rep Rebels defeated the Minto Mad Dogs by a score of 7 to 4 to advance to the WOAA Gregg Division Championship. The Rebels will face Mitchell in a best two out of three series.
Friday night, the Rebels travelled to Harriston and were ready to avenge their earlier loss to Minto. They scored five times before Minto was able to put the puck past goalie Aaron Johnson and his new pads! Scoring first for the Rebels was Jamie Grey-Scott with a beautiful behind the net pass from Graydon McArthur. McArthur the scored an unassisted goal. Joel Delleman was awarded a penalty shot after being slashed on a breakaway attempt and he was able to snipe one past the Mad Dogs goalie. Grey-Scott then deflected the puck into the net off a shoot from defence man Mitchell Pringle. Morgan Ottewell, Connor McCauley (assisted by Pringle), and Delleman (assists by Tyler Dietrich) all scored in the second period. Scoring for Minto were Brad Binkle with two goals as well as Joel Shantz and Czrson Ivel with one goal each.
Mitchell will be host to game one Sunday at 9 pm.
