This amazing season finally came to an end for the TCDMHA Gaviller & Co.
Bantam C Rebel Girls after a heart breaking 2-1 loss to Flamborough in game 3 at
the OWHA Provincial Championships in Ottawa on Saturday.
Flamborough opened the scoring early in the second with a goal by Abigail Pinder, assisted by Adrienne Harper and Emily Demedeiros. The Rebels answered back soon after with Haleigh Weppler scoring on a beauty set up by Grace Kuhl and Emily Moore. The score remained tied until 50 seconds left in the second when Emily Demedeiros scored for Flamborough, assisted by Adrienne Harper. The Rebels pulled all the stops, but were unable to score and Flamborough advanced to the quarter final.
Rebels fans would like to congratulate their girls on a tremedous season! It was fun and exciting from start to finish, from shopping cart racing in Kitchener to a nail biting championship win at the Orillia tournament. Being the first TCDMHA girls team to bring home a Silver Stick championship was an amazing accomplishment and having the opportunity to participate in the OWHA Provincial Championships and taking a limo ride to watch Canada defeat Finland was the icing on the cake! Although provincials did not turn out as we had hoped, this is an amazing group of girls and they did us proud this season!
The girls would like to take this opportunity to thank all their loyal fans and all those who supported their quest for gold.
