MIDGET C GIRLS LOSE IN OVERTIME
The TCDMHA Sierra Aggregates Midget C Rebel Girls participated in the WOAAyear end tournament this weekend

The Rebels struggled a bit in their first game Saturday morning suffering a tough 1-0 loss to the Mildmay-Teeswater Monarchs.  Amanda Fischer scored for the Monarchs.

The Rebels came out strong in game 2 Saturday evening against the Bruce Peninsula Wild.  Kristen Sweiger opened the scoring for the Rebels on a great pass from linemate Nicki Brancati.  The Wild answered back in the
3rd period with a goal by Alexa Miller to tie the game.  Both teams fought hard, but a 1-1 tie was the way it would end.  That was all the Rebels needed to put them in the consolation final on Sunday morning.

The Rebels went up against local rivals the Owen Sound Ice Hawks Sunday for the consolation trophy.  Kristen Sweiger added another point to her weekend scoring first for the Rebels.  The Hawks didn't let up and Katie
Langdon finally managed to put one past the Rebels netminder midway through the third to tie the game and send it into overtime.  The Rebels faced a set back in the final seconds of the third period when goal tender
Patti Scarrow  suffered a knee injury that forced her to leave the game.   Jessica Bryans stepped up and bravely threw on the pads for the overtime period, making some killer saves!  However, the Hawk's Alexa Munro managed
to slip one past Bryans near the end of the period to send them to a 2-1 victory.

Congratulations to the Rebels on a valiant effort.
