ARTHUR CHAMPS!
The boys were up early Sunday for the trek down to Arthur for their 2nd tournament of the season.  There were a few yawns and some bloodshot eyes but the Rebels said they were ready.

The first game at 9 am was against Grand Valley, a team we haven't seen this year.  Owen Torrie opened the scoring in the first unassisted, followed by a Grand Valley goal soon after.  Evan Mielhausen put the Rebels ahead again in the second, assisted by Matt Woodroffe and again Grand Valley tied the score. The play went both ways for most of the 3rd period until Josh Blackwell picked the puck up in his end and carried it end for end before putting in the game winner with 2 min. left.
After a short rest, the boys were back on the ice to face the Goderich Sailors.  The first period was tight with neither team able to score. After some words of encouragement from Coach Chris, our Rebels went out netting two goals. The first by Evan, assisted by Dakota Rody and the second by Owen, assisted by Evan and Dakota.  The Sailors snuck one in before the end of the period, but that was all the boys would allow and finished the game 2-1.
On to the final! Bring on Drayton! Before the game the Coaches went over the game plan with everyone and did they listen! Less than a minute into the game, Josh Batterman scored, with Dakota getting the assist. Drayton knotted the score before the period could end.  Then the boys went on a tear! Reid Gill scored, assisted by Mitch McComb. Evan scored his third of the day, unassisted. Mitch scored, assists to Owen and Reid. Then Reid scored his second of the game assisted by Josh Batterman and Mitch got his third point of the game with an assist. This didn't include the 2 goals that were disallowed. After receiving their medals, it was announced that Reid was the player of the game. Good work! Ty Mountain had an awesome day tending the net and only allowing 4 goals over 3 games!  Hats off to everyone, you deserved it.
