The Great Lakes Frame Company Township of Chatsworth Atom Rep Rebels took on the Owen Sound Attack Atom Select in exhibition action in Keady on Saturday.
The Rebel’s Chris Hardman opened the scoring and the midway point of the second (with assists to Hunter Schultz and Austin McComb) and the Attack’s Hayden Coombs quickly replied. Hardman then scored goal number 2 for the Rebels to regain the lead (assisted by McComb and Cory Rasmussen). Jordon Beirnes put one by the Attack net minder, assisted by Schultz, to end the second period with the Rebels up 3-1.
The play continued hard and fast into the third with Jackson Glynn scoring for the Attack. Tyson Weppler quickly replied for the Rebels on a long pass from Wyatt Golem. The Attack weren’t about to give up as Kurtis Devries snuck one by the Rebel goalie. Golem scored the insurance goal with an unassisted bullet from the point - top corner - to end the game 5-3 in favour of the Rebels.
These 2 teams face off again, with the Attack looking for payback on their larger home ice, on April 2 @ 6:30 pm in the Bayshore.
