Rebels lose home ice advantage
The Great Lakes Frame Company Township of Chatsworth Atom Rep Rebels tie in regulation during the first game of the WOAA Championships.

After a number of good games in a row, the Rebels came out flat during the home opener of the series with Mount Forest.   The Rams opened the scoring early in the first and held a 1-0 lead until the dying seconds of the 2nd when the Rebels Josh Currie made a play near the blue line allowing him to carry in the puck and made a beautiful shot, beating the Rams goalie high.  This gave the Rebels some life and Aaron McConnell put one in during a scramble around the Rams net early in the third (assist to Jordon Beirnes).  The Rebels had trouble keeping on the man in front and gave the Rams several rebound opportunities which were handled by Robbie Hann, but late in the third, again with a man all alone in front, the Rams, banged in the tying goal.  The third period ended with the game tied leading to overtime.

The Rebels were hot and cold in the overtime but didn’t seem to have the fire they had shown in previous playoff games.  At the midway point of the period, the Rams Parker Snyder zigzagged through the through the still-footed Rebels and scored to end the game 3-2 in favour of the Rams.  Playoff action with the Rams reconvenes after March Break with a game at 12pm Sunday, March 18 in Mount Forest and a game Monday, March 19 @ 7pm in Desboro.
