Rebels have fun as they gear up for the Championships
The Great Lakes Frame Company Township of Chatsworth Atom Rep Rebels participated in the Duane Steinacker Memorial Tournament in Tara this weekend.

Though some aspects of our first game were an interesting experience, the Rebels tried to focus on the hockey.  Rebels goalie Robbie Hann had an excellent game with 27 saves and the official final score of the game was Teeswater 3 Rebels 1 with Cory Rasmussen’s unassisted goal the only Rebel goal recorded on the game sheet.

The Rebels faced off against the Thamesford  Attack in game 2.  Though the Rebels fought hard against the much bigger Thamesford squad, despite much of the play being in the Thamesford end and excellent scoring chances for the Rebels, they were unable to put one past the Attack goalie and the game ended 1-0 in favour of the Thamesford team.

However, the fun was not over for the Rebels.  In addition to 2 Owen Sound Attack players being available at the Tara arena for autographs, each of the players in the tournament received a free ticket to the Owen Sound Attack game Saturday evening.  Though the game got off to a slow start, the 1-1 tie which extended through overtime and led to the Attack’s eventual shoot out win was an exciting way for the team members and their families to wrap up the tournament.

Rebels goalie Robbie Hann was the Rebel’s MVP for the weekend and played 2 of his best games of the season.  We hope to carry the excellent play through to our first game of the WOAA championships against the Mount Forest Rams which takes place Wednesday night 6:15 in Keady.  Come out and show your Rebel support.
