Rebels with first league point...
The Great Lakes Frame Company Township of Chatsworth Atom Rep Rebels got their first league point of the season in WOAA playoff action against the Ripley Wolves in Ripley.
The game got off to a sleepy start without a single shot on either net for much of the first period. Unfortunately for the Rebels, the Wolves woke up first and had several shots near the end of the period including the first goal of the game. The Rebels play improved in throughout the game and in the third, Wyatt Golem tied the game with assists by Mitch Stevens and Tyson Weppler. Unfortunately, the Rebels couldn’t capitalize on several good opportunities late in the third and the game went into overtime. There were a number of nail biters at both ends with loose pucks in the crease and posts rung during the overtime, but the game ended 1-1 giving the Rebels their first league point of the 2011-2012 season.
Playoff action continues for the Rebels Sunday in Keady @ 12:15 vs. Lucknow. Wins in their next 2 games would likely have the Rebels advancing to the WOAA championships. GO Rebels GO!
