The TCDMHA In-Line Fencing Pee Wee ‘C’ Rebel Girls bring home
the championship trophy from their Year – End Tournament defeating Bruce
Peninsula #1 with a score of 3 to 0.
The 1st period started off fast paced and evenly matched and remained at zero.
Going into the 2nd period the Rebel girls remained fast and aggressive killing off 3 penalties but with 1 second remaining Morgan Williamson gets one past the goalie assisted by Callan Yost and Rachel Aitcheson.
3rd period came and Bruce Peninsula wasn’t giving up but neither were the TCDMHA Rebel girls. The passes were great and scoring the 2nd goal was Gabby Jex from Haleigh Weppler. With just over a minute left Bruce Peninsula pulls the goalie and Gabby Jex clinches the win with an open netter from our side of the red-line.
Jessica McGregor recorded she "21st" shutout of the season during this championship game and didn't allow a goal all tournament. "WAY TO GO JESS"
These girls have proven their determination and drive to be the best and should be so proud of themselves.
The girls would like to thank their Team Sponsor Bev Cook owner of In-Line Fencing…their Coaches – Doug McGregor, Robert Vokes & Rob Weppler (Assistant Coaches) and Trainer Dorothy Williamson but most of all their parents!!!!
They are now off to the OWHA Provincials from April 8 – 10 in Mississauga.
Good Luck Rebels!!! We are so proud of you all!!!
