IN-LINE FENCING PEE WEE ‘C’ Rebel Girls earn OWHA Provincial Silver Medal
The TCDMHA In-Line Fencing Rebels Peewees fell 3-2 to North Bay on
Sunday, receiving the Silver medal in the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association
Championship game.
Callan Yost scored both goals with assists from Morgan Williamson.
Haleigh Weppler earned her first hat trick of the season on assists from Katie Brancati in a 4-0 win over the Otonabee Wolverines. Williamson scored the other marker in the first game of the tournament. Jessica McGregor backstopped the team with her 22nd shutout of the season.
Game two had Chatsworth against the Durham West Lightening, with Morgan Williamson, Erica Vokes, and Rachel Aitcheson leading the way to a 3-2 victory.
Weppler and Williamson each netted goals on Saturday morning in a 2-2 tie with the North Bay Ice Boltz, with the opposition scoring with 30 seconds left in the 3rd to even the score.
The Rebels advanced through the Quarter final game late Saturday with a 4-3 win over the Kitchener Rangers. Forwards Morgan Williamson, Haleigh Weppler and Rachel Aitchison each netted one, and Vokes hammered home a shot from the point.
In game 5 against the Nepean Wildcats, Erica Vokes opened the scoring for Chatsworth, and Gabby Jex tied the game following two goals from Nepean. Callan Yost scored with 9 seconds left to advance the Rebels to the Gold Medal game.
