TRAINERS A.C.T.I.O.N. UPDATE CLINIC, Calendar (TCDMHA)

OMHA will be conducting a A.C.T.I.O.N. UPDATE CLINIC in Keady on Thursday November 26th @ 7:00pm 

WHY IS IT CALLED AN ACTION UPDATE  CLINIC?

A                           ASSESS:   Situation, Injury, Potential consequences.

C                          COMMUNICATE:  Players, Parents, Coaches, Officials.

T                          TEAM WORK:  Players, Parents, Coaches, Officials.

I                           INNICIATE:  Supervision plan, Equipment checks, E.A.P.

O                         ORGANIZE:  Your team’s Risk Management Plan for the season.

N                         NEUTRALIZE:  Potential consequences of apathy and complacency.

This is an attempt by the O.M.H.A. Trainers group to keep our trainers current. It also provides an opportunity for us to review their job description and present them with a number of scenarios that will require them to take the appropriate action. We will evaluate them following each scenario. The evaluations will be constructive in nature and should be viewed as a learning tool. We also want to gauge the responses of any on – line trainers you may have on staff as compared to those who took a face to face clinic.

 All TCDMHA trainers are encouraged to attend, but all coaches, parents & volunteers interested in the safety of our players are welcome to participate.  The clinic demonstrates the correct use of an A.E.D.unit and the “PACKAGING” of a player suspected of having a spinal injury. They will share new information on pediatric concussion and review return to play guidelines, pre-ice preparation, emergency action plan, medical history files and viruses and infections in hockey. It is a three hour clinic. It is a FREE clinic.
