A Two on None With a Sweet Finish Nailed the Win

Two games left in the regular season, with the playoffs just around the corner. In the dressing room determination set on their faces, ready to take home a win. After 3 consecutive ties in a row it was time to tilt the score in the rebels direction.

Three periods of pressure in the offensive zone created opportunity after opportunity. Arran-Elderslie goaltender kept this one closer than it should've been, facing a lot of shots.

Easton Croft opened the scoring at 6:25 in the first by picking the puck out of the scramble in front of the net and buried it glove side. Sasha McMurray was hungrily awaiting a rebound on the side of the net.

Cody Cook, Colton Klages, Simon Potter and Trevor McCarthy were denied many times by Nathan Patterson in the second. That's when Cole Hall pounced on the opportunity to skate out the D, Cook jumped into the play creating a 2 on 0, Hall had his corner picked and ripped it the top corner for the sweet finish.

The Rebels defended their lead till the dying seconds of the game. Danny Wallis came through when he was needed and earned himself his very first shutout.

Timing couldn't be better for these kids. They have faced much adversity during the season. Goaltending being shared, learning new positions, some skating for the first time and starting later in the season. You can see it all coming together now. They are developing confidence in themselves and most importantly in their teammates. Defense are jumping into the rush and forwards are back checking, getting in front of the net is habit and passing is developing because they know where their team mates should be. It is great to see these kids develop in such a positive way. I'm speaking for them when I say bring it on, we are the underdogs with something to prove!!! With one last game of the season this Saturday in Shallow Lake we will see where we place and await our opponent in the first round of playoffs.
